Online Booking for hotel: Archontiko Angelou
Archontiko Angelou is an old family property dating from 1895, set in a lovely flowered garden. It was built as a summer home for the great grandmother of Marianna Angelou. In the early seventies, Marianna's father decided to renovate it and turn it into a (simple) guesthouse. Recently, however, it was completely refurbished: the interior paintwork was redone, the bathrooms were modernised, beautiful wooden floors were laid in the first-floor bedrooms (the ground-floor rooms still have the gorgeous, original floor tiles) and most of the furniture had been chosen in the seventies were replaced with more romantic antiques. The final touch were the mattresses – they are to die for!
In fact, Archontiko Angelou has become just a perfect guesthouse. Its location, though not right on the sea, is also hard to beat: it is a very quiet spot only a few minutes’ walk from the village and the beach. The building is full of character, with interiors that look fresh, romantic and sweetly old-fashioned, and the atmosphere matches the look. Marianna is a charming hostess, who looks after her guesthouse and her guests with great care. Breakfast is her specialty: she bakes her own bread, lets you taste different homemade marmalades every day (they are amazing), makes fresh orange juice on the spot, and always spoils everybody with a sweet treat (pancakes, muffins, banana bread, carrot cake, rice pudding…).

* "The details made all the difference"
We had a fantastic time. The details made all the difference. The breakfasts were particularly memorable. Mariana is a dream. Our only complaint was the loud roosters who coo-ed all day long! Thanks for a great experience

How to get there
Leros can be reached by plane and by ferry from the port of Piraeus. There are also fast boat connections from other islands. If you arrive with your own car, follow signs for Agia Marina and Alinda. When you drive along the sea through Alinda, you will see a sign for Archontiko Angelou.
Activities
Leros is a beautiful small island, that has blissfully stayed off the beaten tourist track. It is just perfect for quiet, relaxing holidays, though there is also scope for some activity: walking, museums visits, excursions to nearby islands and you can even rent a small motorboat to discover the nearby uninhabited islets and deserted beaches. Not to be missed: a daytrip to Patmos to visit the Monastery of St John the Theologian.
