Pertouli is a little village not far from to a small-scale ski resort in a splendid location of densely forested mountain slopes and sparkling white mountain tops. It feels very alpine. Arhondiko Hatzigaki was built in the late 19th century and was home to several generations of the Hatzigakis family. When in 1943 the Germans discovered that members of the Greek liberation army operated from the house they burnt it to the ground. Exactly 50 years later, the mansion was rebuilt and turned into a stylish hotel.

During the reconstruction, the mansion was brought back to its full glory with elaborately timbered ceilings, dark wood and antique tiled floors, impressive staircases and lots of fireplaces. No detail was ignored and both interior and exterior were designed to be perfect. The furniture is a mix of antiques and country style pieces. Everything looks elegant, and at the same time, feels comfortable and inviting.

In the mansion you will find several sitting rooms, a combined breakfast/tea room, as well as a little bar. Upstairs there are several stylishly appointed bedrooms. More bedrooms are in the converted barn – they are attractive and spacious (excellent marble bathrooms), although those in the house itself are decorated with just a bit more flair. Another building houses a restaurant where you can try local dishes. Done in a smart country style, it is gorgeous, and if you enjoy the traditional food, you can even sign up for a cooking course.

If you stay in Pertouli, you should absolutely make a day trip to the world famous Meteora and to visit the monasteries perched on the rocks. Closer to your hotel, there are the mountains to explore and you can alsο try the Pertouli Ski Centre, go horse riding, go rock climbing.
