Casa Vitae is a renovated old Venetian castle house. It was built in the  late 16th, early 17th century and there is speculation that it was the residence of a nobleman - maybe even the Venetian govenor. It is located in the old city of Rethynmon, thus it is just 3 minutes' walk from the museums, the Venetian fortress, the Venetian harbor, the shops, the restaurants, the cafés, and all other entertainment venues.

The hotel is fully renovated and its rooms maintain the historical Venetian style of their epoch. In the meantime, history tends to combine the Venetian with the Ottoman architecture. Yet, the hotel is fully equipped to provide the visitor with an ambient environment that merges the romance of the Venetian era together with the picturesqueness of Crete and the comforts of our modern times.

How to get there
By airplane: There are many domestic flights from Athens to either Heraklion or Chania airport; Also, there are direct flights to Heraklion or Chania Airport from most overseas airports. Those operate only between April to October.
Travelling By boat: From Pireaus (Athens), to: Heraklion or Chania/Souda.
Then, by bus or by car to get to Rethymnon.

Activities
Rethymno is the capital town of the wider prefecture of Rethymnon. It is located on the northern coast of Crete, at a distance of 80 kilometers from Heraklion and 60 km from Chania. It is a town that uniquely combines the traditional and classy with modernity. The old town of Rethymno is picturesque, with the beautiful Venetian harbor, the castle of Fortezza and its narrow cobbled alleys. Also, there is the Archaeological Museum, the Museum of Folklore and the Religious Museum. The modern city of Rethymno provides the visitors with all kinds of amenities.
