Very few small hotels exist that manage to combine an excellent location, a warm welcome, a pretty interior, an easy-going atmosphere, a terrific breakfast, and maybe even a nice surprise. Just such a place of perfection exists in Arahova, Greece’s most trendy little town in the mountains, not far from the Parnassos ski centre and just twelve kilometres from Delphi.

The building is over a hundred years old and used to be a family home. Today it consists of nine unique rooms. The smallest is a cosy love nest furnished with just one big bed. It is called Erotas, Greek for love. The other rooms have comfortable country style furniture, a working fireplace, and fun details in their décor. Helicopter is a suite with wide windows and fantastic views over the mountains, while Companionship, spread over two levels (sleeping up to eight) and with a cute patio in front, is ideal for families.

The guesthouse has a small sitting room (non-smoking!). This is where breakfast is served. In the high season (winter weekends and holidays), it is especially copious, with massive omelettes, elaborate crepes, chocolate cake and freshly squeezed orange juice and you won’t leave the breakfast table without feeling that you have put on at least a kilo or two (but that it was worth every gram).

In the basement of the guesthouse you will find a funky relaxation space, with an indoor swimming pool (replete with a Jacuzzi and water massage) and a sauna.

A friendly place with a homey atmosphere and immaculate, comfortable rooms; facilities include an indoor swimming pool! Arahova is a charming setting with good restaurants and shops but still retaining a real village feeling and very convenient to the wonderful ruins at Delphi.
