Guesthouse Geodi enjoys a fantastic, quiet location just outside the traditional village of Arna, at an altitude of about 800 m in the mountains of Lakonia, with exhilarating views over the mountains and hills stretching out to the sea. It is the kind of place where everything has been done just right. It has four elegant-romantic bedrooms on the first floor, and two rooms, more rustic in style, accessible from the garden. On the ground floor, the large sitting room has a truly inviting feel to it, and the whole atmosphere is relaxed and friendly.

The house dates from 1928 and was in a poor state until a few years ago when the current owners converted it into a guesthouse. In fact, the external walls were the only part worth keeping; the interiors had to be redone from scratch. The owners did not try to recreate old-looking interiors, nor did they turn the guesthouse into something fashionably modern. Instead they went for the middle ground and created interiors that exude a warm and welcoming atmosphere, even though they look unmistakably new. The welcoming atmosphere is further enhanced by the reception you get from Anna, the local hostess of Geodi. Breakfast is one of her specialties, and in the morning you will be treated to a great spread including omelettes, smoked meat, homemade marmalades, yogurt, dried fruits, cake and fresh orange juice.

How to get there
From Sparta you follow the road towards Gythio. About 18 km after Sparta, turn right towards Potamia, and follow signs for Liantina, Gorani, Vasiliki, and Arna.

The area is great walking and hiking. You will find charming small villages, churches and monasteries worth visiting. Day excursions can be made to Mani and the remnants of the Byzantine city of Mistras.
