The Inner Mani, the middle finger of the southern Peloponnese, is a long series of barren mountains dotted with small clusters of fortified tower-houses. Close to the southernmost tip is Gerolimenas, a tiny fishing port. Its development dates from 1870, when a local business man foresaw that the small, sheltered bay would make an ideal trading centre for the area. He constructed a stone house and several warehouses which became the base of a flourishing business. Five generations later Alexander and Aris Kyrimai turned a page in the family history and converted the buildings into a gorgeous, castle-like hotel.
The 21 stylishly appointed bedrooms are found in different buildings: some are on the top floor of the waterfront warehouse; others are in the buildings that lie behind it. One suite is spread over three levels of a little tower (only ask for this one if you enjoy going up and down stairs). The typical Mani architecture doesn’t allow for big windows and not many rooms have an actual sea view, but there are plenty of verandas and terraces to make up for it. This way also, the rooms stay pleasantly cool in the summer, while they have a warm and cosy feel in the winter (and most have a fireplace you can use).
Indeed, Kyrimai is as much a destination for the summer as for the winter. Its seafront location and swimming pool make it a perfect place to just relax, swim and get a tan, while the warm, country-style interiors and the large sitting room make it also wonderful for a winter break. And not just to sit by the fire: even in the middle of the winter there are plenty of days that are sunny and warm enough to sit out.
Kyrimai is also a culinary destination. Generally, if you are looking for refined, modern cuisine in the Greek countryside, you are in the wrong place. For most hotels food is a mere afterthought, if any is served at all (in most places local tavernas do the job). Things are different in Kyrimai, where exquisite meals are served in an elegant setting by the pool or in the candlelit dining room. The menu offers a variety of refined and creative combinations derived from Greek, Italian and French recipes, which the young chef executes to perfection.
Your experiences
* "We have enjoyed tremendously our stay"
Just to let you know that we have enjoyed tremendously our stay in the three hotels (Kyrimai, Byzantino, and Ilion) you recommended to us. Our favorite was the Kyrimai, which we certainly would not have picked without your company's advice.
But the main reason for writing to you in particular is to thank you for the amazing effort you put in, and the trouble you have taken, to trace us down once you heard that we left my wife's documents at the Ilion. We learned about this when we got back to South Africa. Thank you - we appreciate it more than you can think. Once again, thank you. We will certainly make use of your company's facilities again.

* "Beyond our expectations!"
We wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed your services and our stay in Greece. It was well beyond our expectations! We especially enjoyed Branca's loukoumades for breakfast in Dimitsana (mmmmmmmmmmm), the absolutely GORGEOUS hotel Kyrimai (Thanks for the suggestion to go to the Mani! It was an unforgettable experience!), and our little tower at Sto Roloi. We loved it so much there that we are already saving our money to spend 2 full weeks there in a couple of years to celebrate our anniversary! All in all, really, a WONDERFUL honeymoon! You really offer an outstanding service, very quick and reliable, and I am already spreading the word on travel forums on the Internet!
