The Kyveli Suites are in two adjacent 150-year-old buildings in a narrow street in the old town of Nafplio. If it wasn’t for its unusual colour palette (sea green and salmon!), your first impression might be that of a traditional city hostel, with just a tiny reception area as you come in and a staircase leading up to the bedrooms. But here you will not be handed a room key by an over-aged receptionist upon check-in, nor will your room be the kind where you’d rather spend as little time as possible.
In Kyveli Suites you will be welcomed by the young and lovely owners, Leonidas Lambrinakis, a painter and mosaic artist and his sister Ioanna. They run their guesthouse in a way that allows you to be fully independent and use your suite as a self-catering apartment, while adding at the same time a warm and personal touch with their presence. The nine suites offer a level of comfort that approaches luxury, nothing like the bare basics provided in traditional hostels. Every suite has a comfortable sitting corner (though small), beds are superb and the bathrooms are large and modern. The décor is refreshingly contemporary, even though the furniture is a mix of modern and classic.
Keep in mind that there is no breakfast service in the Kyveli Suites, but the mini-bars in the suites are stocked with some (complimentary) provisions so you don’t have to go out on an empty stomach in the morning. If you want a proper breakfast, you will find nice cafés just a short walk away; as for the choice of restaurants, in Nafplio it is enormous.

* ''A wonderful stay"
We just wanted to take this opportunity to tell you what a wonderful stay we had with Kyveli Suites in Nafplio. The room was very lovely with a balcony that had a view of the Palamidi Fortress and in a great location in the old town. But what makes the place truly special is the hospitality of the owner Leo and his assistant Dimitra. They could not have been more kind and helpful during our stay. It was one of the highlights of our 2 week stay in Greece and we look forward to going back.

* "Incredibly wonderful"
We loved what he'd done with the place. We can't thank you enough! Our days in Greece were amazing. The people we met were wonderful, warm and gracious. And the accommodations were absolutely charming. It was hard to leave each establishment as we felt so at home. In Nafplio, Leo at Kyveli Suites will be remembered by the family for years to come. What a charming character! We loved talking to him. We "loved what he'd done with the place." (I especially was blown away by the heated towel rack in the bathroom. My husband, who has done a lot of home remodeling, couldn't get over the marble work.) We loved the entire town.
