Paros offers a combination of sandy beaches, picturesque fishing villages, and beautiful hilly landscapes. Hotel Petres is set slightly inland, just outside Naoussa, a postcard-picture fishing village with a tiny harbour and whitewashed houses. It is also near Kolymbithres, a stunning natural phenomenon of moon-like stones surrounding perfect little sandy beaches.

The strict cubical shapes of Hotel Petres, interrupted by an occasional arch, white walls and blue shutters and balconies are the elements of a typical Cycladic design that in a way is deceiving about the refinement of the interiors created by owners Clea and Sotiris. The reception is furnished with family heirlooms, and in the sitting room an old fireplace, comfortable and stylish furniture, along with many tasteful details, create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The dining room and the adjacent open kitchen have been decorated in equally good taste. The bedrooms are a little standard in their set up, but nice decorative touches (and antique brass double beds in some rooms) give each its own charm.

Clea and Sotiris have managed to give their hotel the feel of a private home. The atmosphere is easy-going; breakfast hours (a generous buffet) are relaxed; throughout most of the day you can order small things to eat; and in the evenings Clea sometimes prepares dinner for her guests. Another great asset of Hotel Petres is its large swimming pool flanked by sun beds– just perfect for a combination of exercise and relaxation.

How to get there
Take the road from Parikia to Naoussa, and turn right after 6 km at the sign for Petres. If you come from Naoussa, take the coastal road towards Parikia, and turn left after 1.5 km.
