When Marie Luise Antoniadou, an Austrian architect living in Athens, came to Poros for the first time, she instantly fell in love with the island. Wandering through the narrow cobbled streets of the main village, she noticed a ramshackle neo-classical house that was for sale. On the spur of the moment she made inquiries and before she fully realised what she got herself into, she was the proud owner of a 150-year-old house situated just below the old bell tower of Poros.
The restoration of the house and its conversion into three self-catering apartments took several years. Marie Luise carefully enhanced the original character of the house with old building materials and period furniture, and with soft colour schemes and pale wood floors, she added a fresh and contemporary touch to the interiors. Not long after she had completed Sto Roloi, Marie Luise bought another ruined house in the village. She restored the Anemone Residence with equal devotion and decorated it in the same style as Sto Roloi. She divided it into two separate units, and on the small plot of land in front of the ground floor apartment she made a lovely plunge pool.
The Sto Roloi and Anemone apartments are rented as self-catering units, but guests don’t have to worry about chores. There is a daily cleaning service, groceries can be delivered at (almost) any time, and one of the best local restaurants offers ‘room service’ for lunch and dinner.
This year Marie Luise has added another studio - Limari to her unique collection. This studio is a mere 5 minutes from Sto Roloi and boasts the use of a swimming pool. It has magnificient views of Poros. Not for those who cannot deal with steps as there are a number that have to be taken before reaching the property itself.
Your experiences
* ''Superb in all respects''
A very big thank you for a wonderful holiday at Sto Roloi on the island of Poros. The garden apartment which we stayed in was superb in all respects. It’s location in the old town was stunning. We could not have wished for a better 7 days on our first holiday with our 10 month old son. Please can you pass on our appreciation to Marie Louise and all her colleagues who made our stay so enjoyable. Thank you again for your assistance in helping us to choose the accommodation.

Thank you for all your advice and help with the organising of our holiday in Poros, we had such a good time, the weather was perfect and all the people were so friendly and helpful. Marie Luise was so kind and also very helpful. We can’t believe that we are now back in London and it is so cold and wet!!!!

* ''A perfect spot''
Just a quick note to let you know that not only did everything fall together as planned, but also that everything was absolutely perfect!! The Hotel Central was possibly one of the cleanest urban hotels I've ever been in. The accommodations at the Sto Roloi were more than I ever expected. The view of the water and the mountains from the sitting room made the place come alive!! Marie Louise is an absolute doll and her housekeeper Janeta is equally charming. The people of Poros and the nearby islands are so welcoming, I cannot recall ever feeling so comfortable and safe in any foreign country. Thank you so much for making the arrangements for me, and for picking such a perfect spot for me to top off what was already a fabulous vacation. I hope to return to Greece in the near future.

* ''Thanks for a lovely time!''
We wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed your services and our stay in Greece. It was well beyond our expectations! We especially enjoyed Branca's loukoumades for breakfast in Dimitsana (mmmmmmmmmmm), the absolutely GORGEOUS hotel Kyrimai (Thanks for the suggestion to go to the Mani! It was an unforgettable experience!), and our little tower at Sto Roloi. We loved it so much there that we are already saving our money to spend 2 full weeks there in a couple of years to celebrate our anniversary! All in all, really, a WONDERFUL honeymoon!
You really offer an outstanding service, very quick and reliable, and I am already spreading the word on travel forums on the Internet! Thanks again!
