Stemnitsa is a much-loved destination for mini-breaks all year round. Built on a steep mountain slope, at an altitude of 1050 m and overlooking the Lousios River, it is among the prettiest villages of Arkadia. Beautiful centuries-old churches and mansions are the legacy of a prosperous past – Stemnitsa was famous for its highly skilled metal workers, (church) bell-makers, silver- and goldsmiths.

The Trikolonion Country Club is a converted 19th century boarding school for girls. This elegant retreat offers 18 superb rooms and suites, styled in specific colour schemes:  Gaia (earth olive green), Fos (shades of gold) and Ouranos (sky blue). They offer all the contemporary comforts you could hope for, while some of the architectural features like wooden ceilings and arched windows, set in thick walls, definitely add extra charm.

In addition to these excellent bedrooms, you will also find a stylishly decorated sitting room (spacious and cosy at the same time, very ‘country club’ indeed), a (card) games/meeting room, a gym, a massage room, a sauna and a Jacuzzi. Of course most guests will prefer the mountain trails to the treadmill, but a massage followed by relaxing in the sauna and/or the Jacuzzi (or by the roaring fireplace) to conclude a day spent outdoors is not a bad proposition at all!

How to get there
Turn off the Korinthos-Tripoli motorway 10 km before Tripoli, towards Levidi and Vytina. 12 km after Vytina, follow signs for Dimitsana and Stemnitsa. You will reach Stemnitsa after about 16 km. The hotel is on your left just off the road.

Activities
The area is great for touring (to nearby villages or to Ancient Olympia as a day trip). For outdoor activity you can take your pick from hiking, river trekking, rafting and in the winter even skiing. Don’t miss the open-air water power museum of Dimitsana, the cliff-hanging monasteries of the Lousios Gorge and in Stemnitsa the Museum of Popular Art.
